The Lazy J J20 is a boutique, hand-built tube amp from Jesse Hoff / Lazy J Projects that channels the classic spirit of the late ’50s Tweed Deluxe while adding modern enhancements. It delivers 18 watts into a 12″ Celestion Alnico Blue speaker, with two channels (Normal and Bright), both wired point-to-point. Key features include Volume controls on each channel, a shared Tone control, and an optional Variable Attenuation Control (VAC) to keep the amp usable at lower volumes without losing its dynamic character. Power tubes are typically 6L6s, though it can take 6V6s without needing re-biasing, and the rectifier is a GZ34 (with flexibility for others).
